“LAST CALL.”
The barman bellowed and Blaise looked at this much smaller and much drunker companion a shit eating grin on his face as he slurred ”Leggo.” Standing he in a rather gentlemanly like way he offered her his arm and she laughed as she practically fell off the stool. ”Easy princess, lets get you home we have to be at work in….oh bloody hell six hours.” He laughed and hiccupped as they both stumbled laughing towards the door. He had been right in going out with her for the night, he would have fun and she listened to him as he whines about Tracey and then suggested they drink until they couldn’t feel feelings and it had worked, all Blaise felt was the happy spinny feeling as they continued to stumble through the streets.
They were laughing at something that was supposed to be funny, but neither of them could figure out what they were laughing at. Blaise had started singing something in French and she poked him hard in the ribs and this caused the pair of them to tumble forward rolling on the sidewalk until they stopped. “Oye! Blaise.” She hit him in the chest and he fell backwards from the hit and into someone else. This was not the best way for anyone to see Blaise but this was the result of the fight with Tracey and the fact the feisty Spaniard was rather good at encouraging drinking. He should be wary of her by now but he had to admit the night was usually worth the hangover. She didn’t expect anything from him other than company and sometimes that was all he needed. Attempting to keep a straight face as he pulled himself out of the street tugging her to her feet as well both unable to hold back the laughter like children who had pulled a prank. ”Terribly sorry, I can’t take her anywhere.” She hit him and he kicked her in the shin causing a yelp and more laughter to spill forth from both of them.

Pansy normally wouldn’t have been out so late alone, but there had been a sale that had kept her out spending her hard earned inheritance. Bags laden with shoes and skirts, blouses and accessories it was obvious that Pansy Parkinson was the best dressed person at St. Mungo’s. Who needed to dress sensibly when the only real luxury that she had treating idiots who were too dim witted to stay away from harmful creatures was that she could look hot in the process of doing so. Just because some of the people that she was treating were, obviously, morons, didn’t mean that she had to look like a slob. Besides that you never knew when you would run into a handsome wealthy pureblood that just so happened to be at the hospital to make a hefty donation, at which Pansy really did need to look suitable.
She wasn’t paying much attention to who else was on the road she didn’t care. Though that giggling did set her teeth on edge. What was wore was that this couple, who at the time were shrouded in shadow, had the audacity to bump into her stumbling to the ground like a pair of fools. Pansy, huffing her annoyance, picked up the bag that had been knocked out of her hand only noticing who the male counterpart of the couple was when he spoke to her. Blaise Zabini, one of Draco’s old school friends. Shaking her head in disgust with his unbecoming behavior a displeased expression graced her features. “Then perhaps you shouldn’t take the slag out in public, Zabini.” Pansy suggested harshly not at all concerned about offending the girl, in fact that was the goal. He and that halfblood must have been off again and if not, with his current agenda, they would be.

The laughter however stopped as the person he had run into addressed them and the world slag hit his ears. He narrowed his eyes and turned to see Pansy standing before him and he let out a bark of laughter. He had a low opinion of Pansy the way she had thrown herself at Draco, the fact she was never entirely accepting of his relationship with Tracey coupled with this insult made her less appealing as a human than she had appeared in years. ”Just because you are a slag Pansy does not mean everyone else is.” The fact she had insulted the brunette who Blaise was rather fond of had caused the boy to raise his heckles. He stepped defensively between her and Pansy. Not that she couldn’t take care of herself, but he felt it was the gentleman thing to do and even in his haze he felt the need to appear to be this way.
That and you did not insult his friends. ”You should hurry up though Pans there are some men who would be willing to pay even the likes of you for some servicing.”

His laugh was like finger nails on a chalkboard to Pansy, overly obnoxious and how very insolent he looked toward her. But what more could she have possibly expected from Blaise. His standards borderlined on non-existent, he had absolutely no self-respect, proof in the pudding as he was presenting himself in public in such an unbecoming state. Seriously drunken loafs were hardly a statement that someone of his breeding should be making. His mother would surely turn over in her grave if she could see him now. “Perhaps you should have spent a little more time with your studies Zabini, if we’re arguing semantics I do believe that you are the slag. I don’t go around sleeping with any old trash.” She waved her hand pointedly toward the girl that was accompanying him. Besides everyone knew that she was still hung up on Draco. Pansy wasn’t going to go around sleeping with a bunch of guys while he sorted out his priorities, just a few to keep her from getting too tightly wound.
She hated the nickname Pans, and was positive that he knew that. Gritting her teeth as it was spoken in that silky smooth, yet sarcastic tone of his Pansy willfully crossed her arms over her chest making a small huffing sound of annoyance. Other than that though she made no response to his comment, instead coming back at him with something that was intended to cut deep. “So I take it Davis dropped you again. Honestly Blaise, you would think that even you could keep a halfblood in check. You must have one of those awfully dreadful Peter Pan syndromes, you know, wanting to always be playing in the sandbox, and yet a bully can this tendency to creep up on you and steal away your favourite toy. I see it now, you going back up to Tracey, weeping, graveling for her to take you back, and in the meantime you’re slumming it.” Pansy shook her head in grave disappointment.

Of the problems with that statement the most obvious being that he had not and would not be sleeping with the woman he was now with. Working together and the fact she had a sizable ring on her finger and was marrying a rather well respected man in the community who didn’t seem to mind the fact she was out for the night cheering up a collogue and client. If one were to look into the woman’s background they would find she was a Greek shipping heiress, hardly trash. Well there was some question about her father and his pissing away of his part of the inheritance in Monte Carlo. Blaise smiled. ”Well, if you happen to run into her fiancé, I think you may know who he is he owns a few quidditch teams, amateur and I believe he just bought the Treeskimmers?” He looked at the woman currently engaged to him. ”An engagement present yes?” She nodded. ”I am sure you could warn him about the trash he is about to marry.”
”Let’s go, yes. It was Lovely running into you sorry about all of that.” she said as she tugged on Blaise’s arm. ”She’s too polite for her own good.” Which was lie really he had seen her rip many a new arsehole for simply looking at her the wrong way. This was for his benefit. Tracey had been brought up, that’s why he was now stumbling into the street acting like a fool. It may be unbecoming but he had been having fun and somewhere in all that had happened in their lifetime they had all forgotten how to do that. ”At least I am not waiting for Draco. He has better things on his plate Pans, you are his trash don’t you see?” It really was sad. ”So before you walk around accusing others of things you may want to look in the mirror, it’s a bit embarrassing don’t you think?”

It didn’t really matter to Pansy who the woman was or who she was going to marry, especially if it contradicted when she had said in any way. Her irritation with him stemmed from much the same place that his did, or at least that was the impression that she was under. It had a lot to do with the fact that they both had large egos and thought the world revolved around them, which obviously had them clashing heads over the years rather than being best mates. Pansy had always hated how Blaise could scoff at Draco as well adding to the tension between them. She didn’t care about what quidditch team this woman’s fiancé had bought for her, it was doubtful that it had been done for her anyways but rather one of those things that the man was going to do regardless and, since it was convenient, claimed it was for her.
He had hit a nerve with her. Draco always was a major cluster of nerves for her really, just as Tracey seemed to be for him. So what if she was waiting around for Draco? At least she wasn’t too much of a wimp to go after what she really wanted no matter what other people said, unlike him. She knew that she loved Draco, she had for years now, and she was pretty sure, for whatever ungodly reason, Blaise loved that Tracey girl. She shook her head impatiently, wearisome of his poor attempt to get a jab in at her. “What’s embarrassing is knowing what you want and not having the courage to go after it, uninhibitedly. But that’s your specialty not mine.” Maybe it was pathetic that Pansy was still hung up on Draco, but the heart wanted what the heart wanted, and one of these days, just like everything else, Pansy was going to get what she wanted and then all that pain and humiliation from having to wait would be completely worth it.

Blaise shook his head, he wasn’t sure if that was supposed to hurt him. That was a pretty terrible jab, clearly she had no idea what the relationship he had with Tracey. Looking at her he sighed. ”It hurts me to watch you attempt to get under my skin.” He sighed and then turning to his companion for the evening he took her by the wrist, deciding there was no need to continue this conversation, ”Come on I’ve got that bourbon I promised that man of yours at my place.” Then Blaise would do the responsible thing and have someone get her home. A house elf maybe, he was worried about who he would answer to if she did not end up safe in her bed.

Pansy didn’t know the specifics of Blaise and Tracey’s relationship, and she didn’t care to know them either. What she did know was that for years they had been on again off again and constantly fought. She had heard about one incident where Tracey had thrown a flower vase at Blaise even, but that had only been hearsay, she didn’t know if it was valid information or not. She also knew that Blaise wouldn’t be with Tracey officially, exclusively, or permanently because she wasn’t a pureblood. So, to her, the prod was legitimate. And really all anything took to be justifiable for Pansy was if she believed it. “Brilliant,” She scoffed flipping her hair over her shoulder with a dramatic hand flourish. “Your pain gives me pleasure.” Blaise seemed ready to baby-sit the woman home, as Pansy had, as appearances would suggest, successfully sobered him up. Whatever, he could do as he pleased as long as he didn’t so insolently bump into her again. The direction that she needed to go, however, was the same way as Blaise had previously been heading. Pansy struggled with the decision of going on ahead of him, because ladies really should go first, or defiantly waiting for him to usher the woman off so she could make certain that a good, not to mention safe, distance was between them.
